Our facility operates with a dredge and a top of the line wash plant to ensure our materials are of the highest quality. The Gravel pit was purchased from the Baker family in 1954 by Truman L. Flatt and operated by the name of Buckhart Sand & Gravel.

Buckhart Sand & Gravel is located 4 miles east of Rochester, IL on Buckhart Blacktop. The gravel pit operated with cranes and trucks for many years. The gravel pit was purchased to ensure that Truman L. Flatt & Sons had an ample supply of high quality building materials for its road business.

Buckhart quickly became one of the premier gravel pits to supply high quality building materials to construction companies around central Illinois.
